The City of Citrus Heights is dedicated to protecting the rights of renters and landlords and promoting fair housing choice. We want everyone to know that discrimination in housing is illegal and provide you with the resources you need to resolve issues. 

Fair Housing Laws

Discrimination in housing rental, sales and financing on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, source of income, disability or familial status is prohibited by Federal Fair Housing Act and state law Fair Employment and Housing Act.

Reporting Housing Discrimination 

The Renters Helpline is a service provided by Community Link Capital Region, also known as 2-1-1 Sacramento. The Renters Helpline provides telephone counseling and dispute resolution services to Citrus Heights residents. 

If you believe that you have experienced housing discrimination while trying to rent or buy an apartment or home, contact 2-1-1 Sacramento by dialing 2-1-1. The Renter's Helpline staff can also assist with connecting tenants and landlords with resources to help with disputes such as, non-payment of rent, failure to follow lease agreement, and repairs needed for the unit.
